The girl sho loves exercise.

Keep reminding Aliah that she need to call Aniq "Abang" instead of calling him by name. Even they were only 1 minute apart at birth but it sounded nice and polite that Aliah address him "abang" especially when relatives and friends still confused and constantly asked who's the elder one of the two because based on build and height..there's no much diffence.

I've been training Aliah for few months now and Aliah still not used to it. So i told her that each time she called Aniq name instead of abang, i would asked her to jump 5 times....Upon hearing that....she jumped in joy saying she loves to exercise and she said that she's capable of jumping 100 times....(slapping my forehead real hard)...She don;'t even know that i'm trying to punish her when she do wrong(pelik ah budak ni!).....Need to think of another strategy...think think think....

Sengkang Swimming Complex

Spent almost 2 good hours in Sengkang Swimming Complex...I was surprised that it was quite big place. It's also convenient to see that there are big 7-11 stores and MCD with MC Cafe there...i was worried that we would starve terribly so we bought 2 packed meals from mamak's place beforehand. So definitely i'm going to "lenggang kangkong" the next time i'm there with the kids.Hehehe...

Before exiting the place, Aniq told me to bring him there again tomorrow....hhmmm....so not going to happen...hahahaha...

Dah besar anak mak....

I brought the kids out this morning to Orchard road since the school was closed today due to K1 school trip. I got myself some skincare products meant for sensitive skin...and i gave Avene skincare line a try! Got myself the cleanser and the spraying mist, which came in a set with a good deal price. I'm tempted to get the Diacneal gel for blemish but it was so expensive! Hope to get it next month then...or not...hhmm...i'm still thinking ...the price is definitely the culprit of my dilemma....$50++ for blemish gel/creme....but I'm craving for a perfect skin leh....boo hoo....

We ate lunch at Burger King at Ion and did some window shopping at Takashimaya at 3pm.Then out of sudden and nowhere, I was pleasantly surprised when Aniq reminded me to solat and asked whether there's a place for solat nearby. When he asked me like that...i feel that hubby and i have raised him well...and that kind of feeling is priceless!

So off we went to Masjid Al-falah which is 5-7 mins away to perform our solat Zuhur.

Ya allah, Jadikanlah aku, anak-anakku, keluargaku orang orang yang mendirikan solat. Amin.

Jawab mcm tak bersalah.....

Last night, the four of us went for to shops at the admiralty mrt after dinner at home. We bought some grocery stuffs and 2 water bottle carriers for the kids.

So on the way home, we played a little game/quiz to kill our boredom.

I asked them, "Who is the tallest?"....and the kids said "AYAH!!" .

I asked again, " Who wear pink pants?" and the kids said, "ALIAH!!"

and i asked again, "Who loves to cry all the time?",.....and we all looked at Aniq and Aniq innocently said " No one body!!" (NO ONE+NOBODY) hahahaha.....

Sick again..

I just done painting the door without dh around....told him jokingly but serious (mcmana tu??haha) that if next year he did not finished painting by fasting month...i won't make raya cookies...just buy them from stores....because there's only so much i can do...he said ok ok, he promised that he'll do better next time....(aik nak kena blackmail baru tahu takut...lol...)

Aliah is having fever again ...these past weeks, they have been sick like nobody business....At first it was aliah ..then when aliah got better, aniq fall sick soon after that....now aniq just got better 2 days ago...aliah is having fever now...so i'm really really super tired .....i'm start to wonder whether the aircon in their classroom is the culprit?

Made biskut suji yesterday in from 9pm till 12am...excluding the washing of utensils...Thought of visiting my friend's mother in nursing hospital today when the kids were in school but it was raining quite heavily in the afternoon..not to mention the body ache that i has now so i cancelled my intention. Ya allah, aku seperti mengejar masa selalu...dlm kesibukan, janganlah engkau biarkan aku melupakan dirimu maka aku memohon supaya engkau kuatkan lah iman ku...amin amin amin ya rabbal alamin.

This weekend, i was hoping to paint the walls and make nestum cookies...this will be the first time i make them ...hopefully they turned out fine...insyaallah...

I'm sure that he won't read this ......

Dear Diary,

I'm gonna be broke!! Yikes......
For my hubby's birthday, i promised him to treat him and the children dinner and i let him choose any place he wish to dine....so he chose Sakura Int'l buffet....yeah it's nothing special but he says he really like to try the one that's located behind Mosque Al-falah.

I suppose to receive my payment 2 weeks ago for my tailoring but so far no news yet ...wargghh..

Luckily i put aside some money before hand for the dinner treats but still i'm gonna be broke after that...lol..

I also got him a perfume by Beckham signature (50ml) and it's hiding in my closet..i really like the smell and it's been such a looooong time since he had a perfume...KEsian kan!! Even the last one that he had which is by Calvin Klein Truth was bought by me!! He always don't like to spend money on himself except for necessities. That is what i like about him...SIMPLE man with simple needs..

I really need to get a wrapping paper tomorrow morning while he's asleep . That's the only time i can get away. And one more thing....i get the kids to draw him birthday cards..i did help here and there but most of the works were done by them...BRAVO KIDDOS!! (i just realise there're so many exclamation marks in this post...i must be hyper even at 1.50am!!)

Been Busy all week!!

It's been sometime i have not updated anything on my blog including the trip to Melaka with my mother and my aunt for Belated Mother's Day celebration....
Just days before the school holiday, Cik norsiah the grandmother of Shami (my kids's classmate in nursery) asked me whether i'm a home-based seamstress. I was shocked as to why she asked me that because i never said anything about me sewing malay traditional clothes.....

i remembered being berat mulut about saying yes because i'm not sure i'm ready yet to take any orders. But i was telling myself to give it a try and do my best....so i said YES to her. But i told her that i only make Baju kurung Pesak and Baju Kebaya Modern with simple neckline. Even though, i do make Baju kurung Lelaki for the men in my house but i'm not ready to make for others...I try to give myself another 2 years before taking any orders for Baju Kurung Lelaki because to me it's the hardest pattern that i've learned.

Few other peoples and even my cousin have asked about it when words get around. For now, i've got three Hari Raya clothes to make plus another 4 more for myself so i'm gonna be really busy for this month but i love it!! I;ve completed one baju kurung pesak so 6 more to go.....

But what i don't love that my kids fallen sick so it made me super duper busy especially today. Dh worked afternoon shift today, i gotmy period today plus all the cramp pain and Aliah's fever went up to 40.2 degrees!! So i have to bring Aliah and Aniq myself to the clinic while trying to control my own pain.

So now i'm back at home....already gave Aliah her medicine and right now she was sleeping soundly while Aniq watched Transformer 1 DVD...so i can rest a little while before starting my crazy schedule again...hope they get well soon...

Importance of Reading to Children

When my kids were still babies, i have read somewhere in the paper about this 4 yrs old preschooler who able to read simple words and i was amazed by that fact.
I was asking myself, "4 yrs old knows how to read..REALLY??!!" So i always bring the kids to the library and even bought them book hoping that they will love to read like their mummy...not like their daddy who don't love to read.hahaha....well, it's never too soon to start our children on the path to reading
I told Dh about the importance of reading skill development for our children and he supported me by converting his free time at home just to guide them reading simple words from Peter and Jane books...(this is what i love about him...that he don't just give me verbal commitment but in action...way to go DADDY!) and when the kids about 4yrs 3 months old...THEY CAN READ all the words from their Peter and Jane books..
Now we have proceeded to level 2A and 2B of Peter and Jane books. And they can read at least 80% of that books. Thanks to Dh's colleagues who recommended us these books ...so i'm really proud of them to be able to read at this young age. And i can see their love for reading without me pushing them towards it. Sometimes they will asked me about unrecognised words in the newspaper or in my scattered magazine, just to know how it pronounce. I guess if we really put something on our mind, insyaallah we can do it...nothing is impossible or at least try, try and try..

Got a new cooking hobs and a bed for Aliah.

Few days back, my cooking hobs(I've been calling it cooking stove till i knew that it was called hobs actually) somehow died on me and it has been leaking gas when i was ready to cook rasem with sambal kentang. So i was obliged to cook using my steamboat since all the ingredients has been sliced, prepared and grinded. Ad it took way too much time to cook all that using the steamboat set. But what you gonna do right?

So yesterday Dh finally got the time and brought me to Courts to get a new one. And i finally got the one with glass/ceramics top with 3 burners ...the one that i always wanted to have....Thank you hubby..YOU ARE THE BEST!! hehehe
I remember that my mother wanted something like that too...but looks like I'm getting it first! So this is a blessing in disguise for me that my old hobs got spoiled and because of that i got the one that i like...ok wait a minute..i just received a flashback about this advertisement about a lady purposely broke her washing machine with a skateboard just to have her husband to get her a new one....lol...except that I'm not that evil and mercenary.

So we picked up a new bed for Aliah as well since she doesn't have one yet...just a simple black in colour. They will deliver all the stuffs tomorrow from 11am to 3pm and will installed it for us too.
The kids will be on their educational trip to Fort Canning to learn about spices and will show them the uses for these spices especially in our traditional kuihs. I will send them off at their school at 8am and they will be back at 2pm. In the afternoon, we will be visiting my MIL at her new food stall at Tekah near the market to show her some support. I hope she's doing well with her food business ....So tommorow, it will be a busy busy busy day for us.

Stuff they do and they like

Today i assume that the kids will learn how to make Tuna sandwiches based on the list that the teacher gave us last week to bring Tuna(plain) and 4 slices of cheese. School is so much fun nowadays....

Right now, my kids are really into singing the Alif Ba Ta song and both of them keep asking me when is the next ngaji class...is it in 3 more days...or in 2 more days...things like that....hhmm really glad that they really enjoyed it....

No peace for 10 mins.

I applied my St Ives clay mask this morning after washing my face and hoping to get my 10 mins rest without talking while the mask dried up. And of course, i gave my kids their milk so i was hoping they would drink their milk quietly while i was having my 'zen' moment.

While i was laying down at my sofa watching them taking their milk....aniq wouldn't stop talking..
He keep asking me whether he can watch his favourite cartoon movie 'CARS' after school today and i said ...mmmm (which means yes...cause I'm not suppose to talk while putting a mask).
He didn't get it and he asked me again. So i broke the rule and answered him YES and i thought he will stop talking and will drink his milk quietly. And he kept talking this and that, asking me this and that...and i was struggling with my own mask, battling with myself.....and i GAVE UP!! I washed my face and realised i have to become a mother first before myself...or did i choose a wrong timing to put on my mask?? lol...

Well it's ok...maybe i'll do my mask at night then....moral of the story is to plan well....or your mask will crack.hahaha....

Marilah Mengaji (kids A.L.I.V.E programme)

This is their classroom. Quite a number of kids showed up and all of them were so cute with their outfits. One of them even wore samping and songkok...exactly like Hari Raya outfit...lol So cute....i think Aniq is the most undress one but nevermind, i will make him wear songkok next time so that he will also look cute next time.

Aliah was nervous when the class started and she knew that i can't be there with her but when the class ended, she was the one who ended up happy and excited and when i asked them whether they are happy or not, they answered me, " YES!!"
Yeaahhhh....I'm happy when they are happy, of course.
I was quite pleased that the ustazah taught them some doa' too apart from teaching them Arabic words. Next week, Dh will be around to send them to class with me so he can see for himself then.

The kids first iqra' lesson

Dh will be working tomorrow morning so i need to send the kids alone all by myself (sob..sob).
Well it's ok because i can see the kids are getting more independent these days so no worries i guess. I'm sure they can manage somehow and they will be getting new friends!!
Dh successfully enrolled them just today after Friday's prayer and altogether we paid $90 for two kids. $20 each for registration fee plus $25 each every month's fees.

Darul Makmur Mosque has so many activities or classes lined up especially for kids, teens and even adults so i really hope that the kids growing up, feeling comfortable and close to the mosque. Because everytime i went to a mosque or musollah for my prayer, sometimes i would see some teenagers doing their prayers even with their friends and i can't help feeling envy hoping my kids would do the same thing too when they growing up, always remember their duties even when they are with their friends.

So i guess this is my first step of doing that.
It's 1hr class so i don't think i can hang around at mum's place in the meanwhile cause i don't want to rush....
But at least i can visit my mum often after their class especially if Dh is working afternoon shift.

Another funny words from the kids

Right now, we always try to correct their pronunciation or increase their vocabulary so that they will learn how to speak properly. So last weekend, Aniq wanted to play x-box games so he said like this....

Aniq: nak games..nak games
Ayah: Lain kali cakap..nak main game
Aniq: Nak ramen game
Ayah..bukan ramen...main
Aniq: ramen
Ayah: main
Aniq: ramen
Ayah: (faints)hehehe

At last, after few coaching, he got it right...yayyyy.....
Aniq is more pelat compare to Aliah and i've read that Aniq need to practise to exercise his tongue in order for a better pronunciation.

Watching 3D movie with the kids

Training Aniq to be our cameraman so that me and hubby can have more pictures together.

AIBI was having a promotions at Suntec City so i let the kids tried stuffs here and there....

Overall i think that Avatar was a great movie and i've been told that it is movie of the year and i totally agree with that. Everyone should catch it in fact on big screen.
The only downside is that they don't provide 3D specs in kids size but somehow we tried to manage...

Doughnuts for the kids

Aliah with her new bottle. She just can't wait to wait till school opens so she kept bugging me to let her bring her new bottle to Causeway Point.

Let them choose their own doughnuts and Aliah apparently chose the strawberry coating with rainbow rice..why? Because it's pink.....even though i always expose her to lots of colours and but still she will always choose pink...Well, pink really suits her too.

Aniq chose the chocolate coating with rainbow rice...i can see that they really love it very much since they really love doughnuts even the plain ones.

Just say whatever i want to say

Right now, i'm dipping my oreos in my hot coffee for lunch...i know that doesn't sound healthy but i am feeling sad right now and i just want to indulge something sweet to replace my bitterness.

Words have been said that cannot be taken back...and once again i feel unwanted.
Though it was a honest answer, still i don't know how am i suppose to react to THAT!

Lets move on to something else....
We already bought the kids water bottle for school that will start soon and Aliah and Aniq finally got their dream water bottle..it was a princess-ish like for Aliah and a CARS bottle for Aniq (duh). Each retail for $11 each and i'll make sure that they will take good care of it...cause it is so expensive for a water bottle in my opinion...gosh..i hope i don't spoil them bad...
We also have bought their new school shoes at Kiddy Palace since the old ones were already so small for their constantly growing feet. I always can't get over how my darlings have grown so fast.

And let's move on to something else again....
This morning i wore a big smile on my face...i dreamt about me and my family went on a holiday at Indonesia ...weirdly i can't remember where is it exactly ...whether it's Bali or Bandung or Jakarta but we were having a darn good time and the best part was after we came back to Singapore, we were packing again for another holiday to Bangkok, like i originally planned.
Wow...it's like we were always on the move having fun all the time....hahaha

Parent-Teacher session

It started from 10 am and we were no.8 in line......
This time it was quite fast before our number was called. Miss Lin told us all good things about our kids and she always amazed about how Aniq and Aliah worked together as a team. She said that if Aliah didn't know the answers, Aniq would know and vice versa....they always helped each other out....so it's like the perfect team!

But Miss Lin also said that Aliah has gained confidence and able to be independent ....and same goes for Aniq ...only that she said Aniq has become more sensitive now.....
He don't like to be told even in a nice way ......and i agree with her instantly because it also happened at home.
He thought by telling him not to run or spill water even in a nice tone ...that we're being angry with him.....and he will embarrased easily.
But he will still do as told with his sulky face.
But his teacher told me that it could be just a phase for now.
One good thing about him that if he makes me angry or upset, he would say sorry in his sweetest voice and hold my arms.....BLH CAIR, beb...lol..

So overall, we were happy with their performance this year and hope they can do better in K1.
