Banana Cake

Yesterday i made these banana cake out of boredom. I was one desperate housewife who needs to bake something nice and sweet.
I remembered the first time my mother made banana cake. I was still in Primary school and used to like it a lot but she doesn't make it anymore after that.
But now i can make it on my own..!
I've made this 3-4 times now and i feel i'm getting better. It was the most easiest cake recipe by far....
Banana Cake

1 1/2 cups of plain flour (sifted)
1 tsp baking soda
1 pinch of salt

Mix these dry ingredients well.

125g butter
180g of sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence

1 egg
2 tbsp milk
3 mashed ripe bananas or 1 cup

Preheat oven 180c.
Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla essence till light and fluffy.
Put in egg and milk and mix well. Next put in the mashed bananas and mix well.
Mix in the dry ingredients bit by bit but do not beat it too long.

Can bake in 8 inch loaf pan or 7 inch square pan for 35 mins.

Arnold's Fried Chicken

Last Sunday we decided to dine at Arnold's at City Plaza (2nd level). I remembered our last visit was 2 yrs ago and remembered feeling disappointed because i feel the fried chickens were dry and not juicy at all. But my hubby's colleagues told him to try it again because they don't share his opinion. So we decieded to give it a try one more time. Well, sometimes i believe in second chance!

So here goes nothing....we were surprised that his colleagues were right! The half spring chickens that we ordered were fresh, sweet and juicy...yumm yumm i can feel my saliva in my mouth now as i type this..
My hubby still talking about it when we reached home. He said that he will bring us there again and soon...he he
The whipped potato was better than KFC's but we totally dissapointed with the onion rings that we ordered. The Burger king's was better. So overall we had a good lunch..something to be grateful for..
Showing off her two bunny teeth. Actually one of them is hanging loose now due to her fall on the floor while trying to play 'catching' with Aniq. Sooner or later we have to say goodbye to her milk teeth, right..?

This is the menu. As shown here, the half spring chicken cost $5.50. It was served with some fries and can choose between coleslaw or whipped potato as one of the side dish.

First time after 6 years!

This is the fruit labour of my hubby's first time cooking after 6 years or rather in his whole life.
It's Ayam lemak cili padi-one of his favourites
I gave him a detailed instruction on how to cook and he promised he would just try it without asking many questions. So while he cooks, i gave the children a bath. (exchange duties)
The result?
The taste and the style is exactly like mine. So proud of you...hubby
Look like that he had a lot of fun doing it so he told me that he would like to try another recipe next week......
So could somebody give him an apron, please???!!

Fun 10mins

After having fun for 10mins, Aniq had a problem of letting go. He kept crying asking for more...

1 kid for 10mins = $3.00 so 2 kids = $6.00

Not cheap ok..

zoo part 2

This is at Children's World play land. We don't know anything about the existence of this place so we did not bring towels and swimming costumes for the kids. Sorry..kiddos!

Having their share of fun even they can't afford to get their clothes wet.

We were sitting on these cute animal chairs at KFC's.

Me and Aniq posing away while hubby buying coffee to warm up our bodies.

Singapore Zoo

ZOO Admission Ticket Only (Adult) is $18.00 while ZOO Admission Ticket Only (Child age 3-12) is $9.00. I was telling myself...oh gosh..that expensive! But lucky for us that hubby can get 4 free passes from his company. Even though we have to wait a while to get our hands on the passes, well i think it worth the wait considering how expensive the admission tickets were.

The picture above is where Aliah checking out the African penguins! She was totally intrigued by it.

This is a white tiger. Altogether there are three white tigers and they even have names. I know that one of them called Winnie, if I'm not wrong.
This was taken near the zoo entrance. It was raining drizzling so hubby bought 2 ponchos for the kids to put on while me and hubby used umbrella.

Elephant is one of the animals that they can recognise.

We stopped a while to eat lunch while watching the elephants. I've made Fried Rice (requested by dear hubby) and sardine and potato curry puffs.
Overall our trip to the zoo was ok except for the weather even though it wasn't raining cats and dogs but still our moods were still affected by it.

Recognition of colours

Since the twins just turned three years old, I thought of coaching them on recognition of colours more seriously. I have to prepare my toddlers by reinforcing basic skills early on.

Aliah definitely recognize pink compare to other colours while
Aniq sometimes recognize yellow which I wonder why myself.
So I will point out colours whenever I’m out of the house because it’s more fun that way.

Three days ago, I brought them to the nearby shops to buy groceries. When we’re about to cross the road, I asked them to point me something in yellow.
I was hoping that either one of them at least will point at this gigantic signboard in yellow in front of us but instead Aniq pointed the double yellow line on the road. I was taken by surprise. Bravo!!

The reason I wrote this because I want to remember every little details about them which I hope to tell my grandchildren about it one day…insyaallah.
