Resolution for 2010

ok.let's talk resolution again for 2010...My resolution for 2009 is to eat more vegetables and i did that alright. So mission accomplished.

So for 2010, i hope to become more God-fearing person to be a better muslim and in the same time so that i can guide my two little angels to the path that i wish for them.
And another one is to drink more plain water as i keep having dry skin around my nails...gross and irritating.

I love having resolution because i feels it opens a new chapter in my life. It's like i'm being reborn every year....

Just say whatever i want to say

Right now, i'm dipping my oreos in my hot coffee for lunch...i know that doesn't sound healthy but i am feeling sad right now and i just want to indulge something sweet to replace my bitterness.

Words have been said that cannot be taken back...and once again i feel unwanted.
Though it was a honest answer, still i don't know how am i suppose to react to THAT!

Lets move on to something else....
We already bought the kids water bottle for school that will start soon and Aliah and Aniq finally got their dream water bottle..it was a princess-ish like for Aliah and a CARS bottle for Aniq (duh). Each retail for $11 each and i'll make sure that they will take good care of it...cause it is so expensive for a water bottle in my opinion...gosh..i hope i don't spoil them bad...
We also have bought their new school shoes at Kiddy Palace since the old ones were already so small for their constantly growing feet. I always can't get over how my darlings have grown so fast.

And let's move on to something else again....
This morning i wore a big smile on my face...i dreamt about me and my family went on a holiday at Indonesia ...weirdly i can't remember where is it exactly ...whether it's Bali or Bandung or Jakarta but we were having a darn good time and the best part was after we came back to Singapore, we were packing again for another holiday to Bangkok, like i originally planned.
Wow...it's like we were always on the move having fun all the time....hahaha

Hotel room has been booked.

I did not book hotel through Air Asia because the hotels they offerred were limited and Baiyoke Sky is not on their list. I thought i would book Asia Hotel in Bangkok that linked to their BTS skytrain which should be convenient for us but i heard lots of spooky stories about that hotel..

I wonder is it because the hotel is old already, that is why it gave out spooky feelings or is it really 'unclean'? When i heard the hotel is old and dim, it already turn me off whether it 'clean' or 'unclean'. I called few friends who ever stayed there and said so far nothing weird had happened to them..one of them even jokingly said that after a day of shopping like crazy, she dozed off so quickly that she don't have time to think about all that..hahahaha

Anyway, i already booked Baiyoke Sky Hotel (rated 3.5-4 star) which recommended by hubby's colleague and i did it through www.asiarooms.com ( a website also recommended by same person) and the process of booking hotel room was so freaking easy. I would definitely use this website again whenever i travel, for sure.

The best part that i just have to book the room by giving credit card details but they won't deduct the amount just yet till we check out from the room. And there will be no hidden charges to the price they quote us on the website. Cool!!

So of course, i went ahead and do it online and the hotel's price was around $88++ and total amount for 3 nights are $266.01.
I know there are more hotels with lower prices but for the kids sake, i wanted somewhere nice, comfortable and convenient and i heard many halal restaurants are around Baiyoke Sky hotel area.

How i wish i had a laptop to bring so that i can do a blog post per day when I'm there but i guess not.........I think I'll just jot down details about it in my diary which by the way i have not buy for 2010....Clock is ticking Tik Tok Tik Tok...HHmmm....

Gathering with friends at Sakura

Luckily zul brought his maid along so she can take picture of us altogether.
3 anak dara pingitan(me, tina and sal) ..hehehe..we known each other way back when we were anak dara till beranak penak....

The kids were busy mingling with each other. We need to bring earplugs the next time cause they were so noisy when together...lol....it was merry though..

The guys

We let them enjoyed the ice-cream for the closing ceremony...cause we don't want their tummies get upset, do we?
Anyway, i can see that Aliah eats better at buffet than Aniq cause oh boy..that girl can eat seafood stuff especially prawns and crab...but sadly no crayfish this time.

oh god...what have we done???!! lol....

Aniq really bonds with Kois Irfan(gorgeus name, btw)..they laugh, fool around and always stick together.

At last, peace to all.....
Thought of having another gathering, only this time we might focus on the kids instead...swimming pool or snow city, maybe? Let's see....

7 years wedding anniversary

The most important thing of all is that he remembered our wedding anniversary when he wished me this morning at 1.30am after we came back from his mum's place to celebrate her birthday.

I bought him a belt which he needed a new one badly ...and he like it so much because the belt is quite unique when i showed him that he can change the colour of the belt to either brown or black by just twisting it in a click.

And i was pleasantly surprised when i learnt that he bought me a present too but he put it in his locker at workplace since he is in morning shift today...hhhmmm i wonder what is it? could it be Eclipse (The Twilight Saga, Book 3)??

Stay tuned and find out what is it....

A treat from hubby.

One of the things hubby got for me after got his pay is Bodyshop Passion Fruit shower gel and body butter. Yipeee!!
It been a while i wanted these things....so at last we got it..and Bodyshop was having sale that time so it doubles our joy...Yeah!!
And after been using these for almost a week now, i am totally in love with the smell...especially the body butter...i can definitely finish this big container as i use it everyday without fail...even few times a day cause i simply in love with the fruity smell.

ferrero rocher

Hubby promised us that he would buy us the special edition of Ferrero Rocher once he got his pay and so he did. It came in silver, bronzy brown and gold colour (regular one) wrapper.
The silver one has a coconutty taste and it's covered in dessicated coconut and the bronzy brown is a dark chocolate one. Overall, it's nice.

Just talking rubbish

I don't understand that why when a husband makes decision, people would assume that the wife has got something to do with it??!!

As much i don't deny that as a married couple, we tend to make decision together and to me, that's healthy especially if it concerns our life together but i wonder what makes people assume that a husband would swalow everything blindly and made that final decision ....

If every wife has that kind of power everytime, there wouldn't be such things called divorce...
And come on, he has brain too, you know.....

Our weekend

Brought the kids to Multi-purpose hall and let them kick and bounce the ball here and there and they totally love it....kids are just easy to please.

My bistik

Yesterday's meal was Bistik which i like to prepare once in a while.
Add some fries, fried eggs, sliced cabbage, spinkle some peas and cut few slices of crunchy french loaf and we are good to go.....
Yikes, my phones is ringing now, i got to go!

Healthy snack

This is just random stuff which i wanted to review on this.
This is the healthy snack that i purchase at Prime Supermarket and i believe it's available at any supermarket store. It was only $1.85 at Prime so why not give it a try...
I really love if the snack came in small packets for per serving ....it helps to control my portion...hehehe (can't help it when you're a chocolate lover!)

I definitely would purchase this again because it still does taste like chocolate cookies even when one of the ingredients is oats. And oats is good for health too so that makes it a good snack and i can just dump the small packet in my bag anytime i wanted to snack while shopping ....hehehehe.

Our plans on 20 Dec

I've just got news from Dh that Smrt might give them early AWS bonus i week early this month but he told me not to get my hopes up since this is only rumours that has been spreading at his workplace....if only this is true....

We are going to meet Tina's family and Zul's family for dinner at Downtown East Sakura International Buffet on 20 dec and it would be nice to have a little more money by then...hehehe
After dinner, we might be playing bowling and FYI, I'm bad at bowling...cause i don't get the excitement from playing bowling but weirdly, i enjoyed very much seeing others playing it in the bowling alley where i can seat in the air-conditioned room, ordering snacks and soft drinks...and i love being around people and the noise the ball makes when trashing into those pinballs.....hahaha...weird but true. But then, Zul need to get his youngest son sleep in latest by 9pm so maybe no chance do bowling....let's just see what happens then...

Last Weekend

At ION

This is the famous air Bandung at Hjh Maimunah but i personally find that there's nothing special about it.

But i stongly recommend the Tahu Telur..."it's a die die must try" dish.

My chocolate chips muffins

These were the muffins that I've made for the kids farewell party on their last day of school.
At first i thought of making chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing but i changed my mind because for sure i know that the kids will make a mess and stained their clothes.
So to make it hassle-free, i instantly chose chocolate chips muffins which are easier to make and easier to eat..it's a win-win situation.

I've made two badges which of course one badge is for my family and it was gone in two days....it feels like that the muffins have gone with the wind...lol...

$190 is ours.

The last post i wrote, i mentioned about shortage of money this month. Yesterday morning, when Dh came back from work, he told me that he already checked his payslip and confirmed that the company had deducted $190 by mistake.
I was so happy when hearing that ....only that he need to do make a call the Hr for them to reimburse that money...
And hopefully they can do that in 2 weeks time .....Alhamdullilah...Thank you thank you Allah.

And again and again, i always emphasize the power of doa because you can never know that help may come to you when you seek HIS help....

But Dh and i still stick to our decision about not taking advance pay for next year Hari Raya... all we need to do is to come up with good planning and management on our spending....

And yesterday, i went to Orchard Rd and i was so envy to see lots of people went shopping here and there...i always like the Christmas shopping deals in shopping malls....especially body products like perfume, body lotion all wrapped in nice casing and ribbons.....for me, i'm just browsing around .... : (....it's okay....because i get to eat Hajah Mainumah yesterday at Geylang before going down to Town. At last i was able to eat the Tahu Telur and OMG....it's the best Tahu Telur i ever ever tasted...and Dh agreed with me...see ....we have kindda the same taste bud.( will post pictures next time). The grave was so thick that you can swipe your tahu telur with it and pop onto your mouth....hhhmmmm the gravy taste like Rojak Cina Gravy....which goes well with the Tahu Telur....

Well enough blabbering about food.....School Holidays is here and i need to plan out my activities with the kids properly or else they would drive me crazy with their non-stop action around the house..lol
Activities that doesn't require lots of money till 23/12...hehehe
maybe going to library, riding bike...etc etc...

No thanks to Advance Pay.

My hubby and i agreed not to take advance pay for Hari Raya celebration next year.
Why?
Because we have to suffer the next two months..which is last months and this month, and the month of December till the 23rd. So we personally find that it's not worth it...
We have just received hubby's pay today and we were back to frowning due to the paycut....so i cancelled on my planning to make Aliah a pant suit as i really don't feel like it already.

Ya Allah...inilah dugaan yg harus kita tempuhi....semoga kita akan bertahan demi anak-anak...

But i really looking forward to go out with Zul, SAlbiah, Md Noor and Tina along with their kids. The school holiday has started so i really wanted my kids to have fun with other kids so i have to manage to put aside some money for it....
I seriously need to do a list to make sure that i only buy neccessary stuff and able to preserve till the next payday...

Preserve is the key for now....

I'm doing it slow and steady.

This morning my weight is 49.7kg which i have lost 500gm for the past 9 days...such a slow pace right??
And today this is what i already had for my meal...(bad news)

Breakfast
A small chocolate chip muffin with hot milo.

Lunch
A plate of homemade fried noodles and a chicken wing ( oh..no)

So i thought of eating just an apple for dinner and exercise for 45mins-1hr on my stationary bike and hope i can be 49.5kg by this Sunday.

Sadly, i don't think i can lose 2kg altogether by Hari Raya Haji but i'm doing slow and steady rather than lose nothing...
Caiyo caiyo....

My plans

This saturday i will be going to Geylang to buy materials for Aliah's pant suit that i will making for her for Hari Raya Haji.
Usually i prefer to make her wear pant suit style because i find it easier for "Active Aliah" to move around.
I know i can just buy the ready-made but i was thinking that i should use this opportunity to brush up my sewing skills. Who knows...i might design my own clothes one day....i can at least dream about it, right?
And i know it's cheaper to make it your own rather than buying because a nice pant suit for Aliah usually can cost up to $40.00.

Now at 1.00am, i already done the draft of the pant suit so i'll just have to wait for this Saturday to get the materials and i'll try to get it done by at least Wed or Thursday since i only be making a simple design.
And i'll try to make more of my own clothes next time so that i'll be expert in no time....hehehe and i thought of taking intermediate dressmaking class next year to learn more techniques.....

Right now, I'm excited that we have made plans at last on 12/12 to meet our friends and their kids for dinner...still haven't decided where to eat...i was hoping they would choose Sakura because it'a buffet which is easier to feed the kids with their variety spread of food like pizzas, fried nuggests, cakes and so on and i miss Sakura badly too....they suggested taking flyers after that but i shake off their idea because hubby have not received his pay+bonus yet so i don't want to spend a BOMB for only 1 day...because Sakura dinner for 4 of us can easily cost us $80.00. So if we included tickets for riding Singapore Flyers, it will difinetely will cost another $100 or more but good things is that they were all parents so it was easy for them to understand.

But i'm still thinking about what to do for the kids after eating dinner together....watching movies?? Just sight-seeing at Orchard Rd to look at the beautiful lights and decoration? But it will be so crowded on Saturday and with us bringing the kids...it's not going to be easy, right?

Parent-Teacher session

It started from 10 am and we were no.8 in line......
This time it was quite fast before our number was called. Miss Lin told us all good things about our kids and she always amazed about how Aniq and Aliah worked together as a team. She said that if Aliah didn't know the answers, Aniq would know and vice versa....they always helped each other out....so it's like the perfect team!

But Miss Lin also said that Aliah has gained confidence and able to be independent ....and same goes for Aniq ...only that she said Aniq has become more sensitive now.....
He don't like to be told even in a nice way ......and i agree with her instantly because it also happened at home.
He thought by telling him not to run or spill water even in a nice tone ...that we're being angry with him.....and he will embarrased easily.
But he will still do as told with his sulky face.
But his teacher told me that it could be just a phase for now.
One good thing about him that if he makes me angry or upset, he would say sorry in his sweetest voice and hold my arms.....BLH CAIR, beb...lol..

So overall, we were happy with their performance this year and hope they can do better in K1.

4 yrs old assessment.

Last Friday, they didn't go to school because Dh made an appointment for 4 yrs old assessment at Polyclinic at 9.20am.
So after Subuh, i didn't go back to sleep since there wasn't much time left so i started packing their Healthcare book and other stuffs. Get the children ready at 8.00am and we got out of the house at about 8.30am.

Reached there 10mins earlier so we bought light breakfast and Dh bought 3 chicken pau and 2 can drinks...It's been a long time too since i ate hot chicken pau. When our numbers were flashed, we went in and a Chinese nurse was waiting for us. Took the kids's heights and weight.

Aniq
Height: 103.5cm
Weight: 16.2kg

Aliah
Height: 103cm
Weight: 15.7kg

Then she began to test their eyesight, hearing and so on...and after that, we still need to see a doctor for further questions. But Aniq and Aliah went to a different doctor in different rooms...how troublesome...

Dh wanted me to go in without him because he need to take care of the other kid while i'm in the room and said i know the kids better which kindda true...so i did.

Aliah's doctor who is an Indian lady did a more precise test compare to Aniq's doctor and she told me that i should limited Aliah's watching television and actually i do that...i only allowed them to watch 2 hours of cartoons everyday but in 1/2 hr to 1 hr segment each time. But she was right about not letting Aliah to watch tv so near and Aliah liked to do that when i was not in living room with them.....but i would try to keep a watch on her and remind her again and again everytime she gets nearer to TV. But the doctor said that there's nothing to worry about. And she also explained about how the kids nowadays in Singapore got high expectation on education, usage on computer and PSP so it was quite common for kids to wear spectacles...and parents should not be alarmed.

But alhamdullilah that everything went well and the kids did great on all tests.

W

Double u is how you pronounce for the letter W, right but do you know how Aliah pronounce it?
Bedal U instead of double U.....hahaha ...how funny is that?

Jln Jln Cari Makan

I desperately need to lose 2kg before Hari Raya Haji...which i gained recently.
My comfortable weight was 48kg for my small size(not tall, that's what i mean) and now i am 50.2kg...yikes...how this happen???I feel like my weight is on pendulum, swinging back & forth...till now i have not discover any tips on how to stick to that weight that i'm comfortable with and still can enjoyed good food...

During the rainy season, i am always growling in hunger at around 9pm so i would snack here and there to keep my body warm...which i realised that i can hold on to my weight better during warm weather...make sense?

I always told my hubby that if genie could grant me 3 three wishes...

I would want to have an atm card that can provide me any amt of money whenever i want

and

i would want to eat whatever i want ...whenever i want without damaging/blowing up my body....that means i can swallow lots of fried foods without thinking of cholesterol and eat lots of kuihs/ice-cream/cakes without worrying about getting diabetes....it's like everyone's dream, i would say...

and the third one ...WORLD PEACE!! ( really linda? ..the third one?? how selfish can u be?? haha)

But however i got myself into trouble when i watched this JLN JLN CARI MAKAN yesterday....and this woman who is the host of the show got the best job in the world!! She always ...i mean never once failed making me drool from the way she eat...seemed like every food she consumed...tasted heavenly....really...should watched her,...then you know what i meant. Even Dh strongly agreed on that....

And i discovered Waroeng Penyet at Marine Parade from her show and the foods she showed.....OMG...looked incredible yummy...(i sounded like i'm high...i know). Told hubby that we must go there on our next pay day....see....how to lose weight??? i need HELP....

Years ago, I got a ex-colleague who always called me Buncit lah, gemok pendek lah...and i always laugh because i really dont mind as long not infront of any cute guys or you will see me bite back hahaha but surprisingly her critism always got me exercise and eat properly.... HHmmm....that kind of technique works for me?? as long i don't go into depresion ...lol....still wonder anyway....

They rode a police bike

Nenek left us a year ago

My mum and my cousin, shikin called me to ask whether i'll be there at kenduri and i myself were not too sure because for centain i know that Dh has not recovered fully yet from his literally 'unbalanced head'(not a joke) which was diagnosed by family's doctor.
So i called Dh who had came back to work from his 3 days rest at home and he told that he will be ok to tag along and don't expect him to be cheerful as usual.
When we reached there, the tahlil was still going on and i heard they also did a doa selamat for cik lan who happened to be a birthday boy/man/old man(???) that day and shikin was the one who told me that. I didn't know that nenek passed away on his birthday....!!
I remembered yesterday's occasion was like a happy occassion rather than a sad one...but i'm sure that everyone there thought about nenek and sedekahkan al-fateha for her...Semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat...amin...

My new favourite colour

I've told people that my fabourite colours are basically Black (all time favoutite, well who doesn't like black), Brown and Pink. Usually when i said Pink, my sis in law, Yana will go all yucky on me and yeah i've heard a lot of girls dislike Pink maybe because it's too girlish, i guess...yeah, i know what they mean because i found it girlish too once upon a time in my teens.
Well, i generally don't dislike any colours NOW but i remembered hating green when i was young. And it happens to be my mother's favourite colour....haha

But it's weird that i started liking purple now...not the bright, happy purple but more on plum, deep berry iisshh colour...something like egg plant colour...hehe

That's is why i told people that Black is my favourite colour because i always stay true to that colour.....my feelings never change towards them and i promised to stay faithful...

Downtown East

The kids were able to queue by themselves and boarded the train without me...unlike last year which i had to accompany them all the way....
Have the kids grew independent without me realising it? Times really flies...

The humongous polkadot mushroom

It looks like they were having a bubble bath...

I welcome you back

Ana called me today to chit chat with me like she always does occasionally. She updated me with her life with her new baby and all and she asked me out because she in need of someone to lend ears to hear her woes and i found myself straight away jump onboard and voluntary unconsciously..So i'll be meeting her for coffee and chocolate drink(for her...cause she don't drink coffee) today at 7pm plus at Causeway point after i got my consent from Dh.

And after i gave a careful thought, i have decided to open up my heart to her one more time and welcome her back to be my best friend...even though i was mostly there for her compared her being with me when I'm sad/angry/bored/whatever negative feelings i had before.

I wondered ....is it better to have obnoxious friend rather than none at all and feel lonely?
I've been friends with her since 10 yrs old...that means we've been together for donkey years already....and she made me feel guilty by labeling me as her best friend all the time....i can't even look into her eyes and agree...and it was so PAINFUL to feel guilty like that...

She even found a card recently that i handmade for her l10-15 yrs ago and i started my sentences To my best friend: blah blah blah...
I remembered how we are always together when we were in primary school, working part-time together at 7-11, watching movie, mimicking our favourite singer while singing at her home..how we did foolish things together and how you got scolded from my family when i ran away from home....but after what we went through, it is sad that even now, she doesn't really know me that well as a person...cause she never asked....it's always been about her...

But she reminded me how i made her my best friend....Come On...she even have the card that i gave her ages ago....i know she broke my heart and seldom feel happy for me....but i can't forsaken her when she need me.....

So i welcome you back, Ana to be my best friend and hope to embark on this journey in life together...as a wife, mother and a grandmother one day.....insyaallah.

chicken pot pie

This is my chicken pot pie that i had attempted to make today and apparently it was a success!!
I'm so in love with this and this is perfectly comfort food for me espeically when it's raining outside which sadly did not happen today....hahaha
Dh really loves the filling which is so creamy and colourful due to the mixed vegetables. I think this is perfect too for picnic food....HHmmmm....sounds like a plan...

Private Celebration

She was sore because i fed Aniq first hehehe..Well, Aniq is my firstborn so of course i fed him first but my poor girl already felt left out at that moment......You know that i love you both, right......i know she can't wait to taste the cake actually....

Look at Aliah getting her 2nd bite....

Celebrated their birthdays in our own private way at our comfortable crib. My mum came few days in advance to wish them...one thing about her that she can remember dates very well...so she never missed wishing me or my kids a happy birthday wishes.

My hubby ordered this without me around at Polar ..it was royal chocolate cake with buttercream icing...personally i think Prima deli do it better ....because the buttercream was tasteless....i generally taste nothing except greasiness because of the butter....but anyway, the cake was okay and soft...minus the buttercream frosting.....but it has this Thomas Train picture printed on the cake which made my kids super excited when we showed them just the box.....lol

Birthday treats for classmates.

I know that I've been slacking on my post but believe me that i loves writing .....about my happiness and my sadness (well...not much on that because i have my private diary for it.( which keeps me sane most of the time). Even though i told pretty much everything to my Dh, but writing on my private diary is just something i need to do to pour out my misery and anger when I'm having bad days....I'm sure everyone have their own ways of dealing theirs....
Well enough about me...let's talk about my kids...
The following monday after their birthday...i got myself excited by preparing birthday treats for their classmates...there were chocolates cookies, jellies and interesting lollipops that my kids enjoyed very much....(as you can see from their smiling faces on the pictures above)
Their classmates sang them birthday songs in 3 different languages and they felt special instantly because they told their father this after school, " Aniq aliah punya birthday!!"
I thought of having birthday party next year for their 5th but something tells me that i am not ready...just look at my kitchen utensils and my periuks...not meant to cook a lot of stuffs...but maybe early to tell....let's just see whether i have the budget to do that next year....

Irresistible

One morning when the weather was cold, the kids insisted on wearing their jackets to school...not sure whether they were feeling cold or they just wanted to try out their new jackets that i just bought for them.
Aliah's jacket is a Hello Kitty one and it is pretty with pink bows at the sides while Aniq is a hooded sleeveless one that comes in a set together with shirt and pants and he really loves his jacket very much....And after i dressed them up that day, i couldn't resist taking their pictures.
