NDP 2009

Finally found our spot..but it was not great though..
We supposed to join ashik and rzyan but that section was closed so we weren't allowed to go through and i was joking to apie that this was exactly like the zombie kind of movie where you can't get in when the virus breaks out...yeah that's me and my wild imagination..apie was laughing and joined the fun saying that maybe ashik and ryzan had turned into zombies so that's why we were not allowed to go in...hahaha...

The weather was not hot but the place was crowded everywhere so it was kind of stuffy there so my makeup wore off that fast. So smile is the best remedy to looking good in photos...hehe

He was eating langsat bought by eya but don't know why that he seemed like dozing off...zzzzz

I brought mee goreng cooked from home, peanuts, some soyabean drinks and candies. And Eya brought some lemon tea drinks, fruits and some nuggets+fish fillets so that went well with my spicy mee goreng. Kesian Ashik and rzyan....

We were so excited to see these and the kids were amazed too!!

It was such a pretty sight.
I was joking with apie that if my son were to be a parachuter on National Day...while people were cheering them on ..i will freaked out till my son landed safely and i realised that i can really freaked out and i was not joking at all. OMG...!

I just realised that Aliah doesn't own any red blouse or dress or anything in Red in her wardrobe..I wonder why....Maybe i find that colour too garang for her...(shrug)

G.I Joe and archery

The kids were excited to watch G.I Joe. Frankly speaking that i never imagine that i will enjoyed this movie as much as i thought.

Eye focus on the bull's eye...

I always wanted to try achery and i finally got to try it at last...It was at DM Achery at Suntec City and it cost $5.00 for 12 shots and Dh and i shared the shots just to feel the kicks.

Not bad at all, i think...I only took two shots which one off target and one at the black marking. Still need more practise with that.

For Dh....he hit most on the yellow zone...he knows how to aim ..thanks to his training on task force reservist. For a gal like me...hhmmm...need time to know how to aim...

2nd celebration on the actual day

On second thoughts, i bought a small birthday cake which is of course a chocolate one for my hubby. The reason was that i realised the kids have understood the meaning of birthday for the first time after celebrating their classmates birthdays in school.

Dh was working morning shift so he didn't know about this cake that i bought from Prime Deli after i send the kids to school.

So we celebrated in a private manner...just me and the kids....

The kids were so happy singing the birthday song ...even Aniq was dancing to the tune....hahaha

You'll see what i mean in a video shown below.

Dh was very pleased with the cake which we found quite soft and creamy but not too sweet...it's perfect..

2nd time at amirah's grill

Giving Dh a birthday treat on last Sunday and he wanted to eat Amirah's grill.

Checking out the menu....they have middle east and western cuisine...

I bought a regular fish n chips except the waitress asked whether we wanted a spicy one or not...that's new......i never heard of spicy fish n chips. But anyway we ordered the regular one for the kids for them to share.

Tell you something.....all not nice except the lemon juice, which i tried before this so i'm sticking to what i like....a smart move to me at that moment.


This is my seafood platter....this is good...they have 2 small sea bass , some squids and 3 humongous prawns which is so yummy....yum yum
I don't mind having these for my meal even though it doesn't come with rice or noodles..

This is the fish n chips which kind of dry to my taste....

This is Hummus served with pita breads...a mush haves for me whenever i visited Amirah's grill.


Apparently the kids love the Hummus as well.

Somebody looked satisfied and happy on his advanced birthday celebration...hehehe

Videos to remember..

Nisfu Syaaban (Nisf bermaksud separuh) adalah peristiwa hari ke-15 dalam bulan Syaaban tahun Hijrah. Umat Islam mempercayai yang pada malam Nisfu Syaaban, amalan akan dibawa naik oleh malaikat untuk ditukar dengan lembaran amalan yang baru setelah setahun berlalu.


Religious customs dictate, a recital of surah yaasin was held after the Maghrib prayer, led by the Imam.The surah yaasin was read three times simultaneously, which included its different reasons and asked for different benefits. This was then followed with a 'doa nisfu sya'aban'.

The first reading of the surah yaasin was conducted to ask for longevity to enable the faithful to further commit or 'beribadat' to Allah the Al-Mighty.

Second was to ask for good fortune or 'rezeki halal'.

And the last was to strengthen one's faith towards Allah (tetapkan Iman)and to hope that one would pass away by staying true to the faith.The surah yaasin was recited after the Maghrib prayers as the Hijrah date will changed at the time that the Maghrib prayer is called.

One of the benefits of performing the 'puasa sunat' during this month was as an exercise and to prepare for fasting before performing it for the whole month of Ramadhan, which follows after Sya'aban.


My mum called me today in the afternoon to ask me along to Masjid Darul Makmur to solat Maghrib there and read Yasin together in the name of Nisfu Syaaban...Blh dergar ceramah skali but too bad i was still having period so i can't go with her. Kalau dipanjangkan umur....maybe next time...insyaallah...

At mum's house

The kids were singing Barney's songs and they supposed to hug each other when coming to the end of the song. Mcm Mcm budak ni..

This is the elder one Nur Afiqah...How i know this? Because her hair stands up like in the picture.....i had that kind of hair ...actually worse than this when i was a baby according to my mother...hehehe

This is the younger one..Nur Aqilah....Maz informed me that the doctor in the polyclinic said that they are not identical twins ....that means they are like my Aniq and Aliah...fraternal twins...

Fraternal twins mean....two egg + 2 sperms
Identical twins mean....one egg+ one sperm ..then they split into two after merge...get what i mean??

Should get a better spot for picture time....so pls ignore the unfold clothes...

My mum already folded the clothes halfway ....but these kids messed them up.....bertuah punya cucu....hehehe

Totally had fun that day.....it's been a while that we didn't gathered at mum's place...should do this often...

what is ciktapor....?

National Day is getting nearer so it was common to see that singapore flags were being hung here and there...i was lucky that i did not need to hang it myself because i noticed the flags were automatically were hung here at every home at my blok...i don't know by who...eerrr....singapore town council??

So for the past two weeks, Aliah has been saying "ciktapor!!ciktapor!!...At first we thought she said Cik Tapar(Dh's uncle) ...but couldn't be because she doesn't know him that well....or recognise him for that matter. So i looked harder to what she's trying to say or to what she's seeing...and i saw Singapore's Flag..

Actually ciktapor is Singapore...lol....
So i tried to guide her how to pronounce it better and so from
ciktapor, it became cingtapor....haha...ok ok it's getting there....
and hopefully one day from cingtapor...it will beccome Singapore or Singapor...(pronounciation wise).

For aniq, i asked him to pronouce singapore and he gave me Tingapor...HHmmm...he's a lot closer to getting it right...good job kids!!!

psychobabble stuff

Dh called just now saying that he will be overtime today from morning shift to afternoon shift.
Since yesteray i already feeling bored so when i knew that he will be home late at night...i'm getting more bored.

My bid for the twin stroller was successful so i called kandar and told him that he can collect it today after work..
I wonder the stroller will be as good as i what i've seen in the picture. Anyway it was quite cheap $100 and the condition is 8/10.
Kandar told me that maz wanted a twin stroller so that she will able to send and fetch Iqah with the babies in the stoller and hands free (of course her hands will have to push the stroller..ah you know what i mean..hehe...)

Rosemary grilled chicken with lemon

I can;t remember where i get this recipe ...but what i know that this is so easy to make...
I made the coleslaw and the baked potato myself.
Dh was cracking a smile when he saw the roasted chicken on a plate.....waiting to be feast...

Nothing beats a hot meal from home...

One night at Royal Crown Plaza

We checked in at 1pm and took some pictures of ourselves....I find the toilet is a little smaller than we thought it would be but it was still fine for me...As usual the kids love bathtub so much that they kept asking for a bath every now and then.

I don't allow the kids to jump on my bed so finally they got their chances to do so on this bed.

Watched Harry potter and Half blood prince ...the kids dozed off halfway through the movie...while me and Dh still attentively watched it....

Even though there wasn't much action in this movie but i still do enjoy this....it had a good dose of humour in it. Should catched it on dvd at least in order to follow the next one....

It's been or feels like months that i haven't eat this Nasi Ayam Penyet at Ayam Penyet Ria...this time i tried the sup asam (is that what they called ?)...and it was ok...still nice..a must have for me when having this....

Went to Toyrus to check on Jeep twin stroller which i bought 4 years ago that Kandar interested on buying for his twins....Not knowing that i will have twin nieces...i sold it the minute i don't need it on yahoo auction(which no more now) and it was sold like hot goreng pisang....

But it was no more longer sold on Toyrus...but anyway i found a second hand one on ebay which he doesn't mind (a different one, though) which i will tell him later on....

Having breakfast at 8 am ...the kids don't normally eat this early so they don't have much appetite...anyway we don't have to fork any cents so it's alright then not to have any appetite....hehe

Only kids of 6 years old and above will have to pay $25.00 each to enjoy the breakfast buffet....Not sure if i'm willing to part with that kind of money on my kids little stomach...

Anyway....i'm feeling rejuvenated and fresh even after one day of rest...free of housechores....

Aniq seldom has a candid moment with camera but this is the most natural/cute reaction from him...he loves cocoa crunch with fresh milk.




Bonus is there's kiblat indicator sticker on the ceiling.....enjoy enjoy pun kena ingat Allah..

Yesterday outing.

Went to Sim lim to buy my sister.in.law a computer because she said that nowadays her projects would need research from web most of the time.

Since most of them came a bit late than promised...by the time we are done with the computer shopping...most of the shops were closed at bugis as i thought i wanted to buy Aliah a bracelet...so no chance. In the end...we grab our dinner at nearby coffeeshop.

Solat sunat dua gerhana

Solat Khusufain ialah solat Dua gerhana, yakni solat keranan gerhana bulan atau gerhana matahari.

Kalau gerhana bulan kita lakukan solat Khusuf dan kalau gerhana matahari kita lakukan solat Kusuf. Kedua solat ini hukumnya sunat muakkad.(sunat yang amat digalakkkan)

Waktu melakukan solat gerhana matahari iaitu dari timbul gerhana itu sampai matahari kembali sebagaimana biasa atau sampai terbenam. (wahida..i was right, hehe)
Sedangkan solat gerhana bulan waktunya mulai dari terjadinya gerhana itu sampai terbit kembali atau sampai bulan nampak penuh.

Cara mengerjakannya:

Solat 2 rakkat sebagaimana solat biasa blh dilakukan secara bersendirian, tetapi lebih utama dilakukan secara berjemaah.

Solat 2 rakaat dgn 4 kali rukuk dan 4 kali sujud. Pada rakaat pertama sesudah rukuk dan iktidal bacalah surah al-Fatihah lagi, kemudian terus rukuk sekali lagi dan iktidal lagi, kemudian terus sujud sebagaimana biasa.

Pada rakaat kedua juga dilakukan seperti pada rakaat pertama. Dgn demikian solat gerhana itu semuanya ada 4 kali rukuk, 4 kali membaca al-Fatihah dan 4 kali sujud.

Bacaan al-Fatihah dan surah dlm surah dlm solat gerhana blh dinyaringkan sedang dlm gerhana matahari tidak boleh dinyaringkan. Pada tiap-tiap rakaat disunatkan membaca surah-surah panjang.

Jika solat gerhana itu dikerjakan seperti solat biasa iaitu dua rakaat dgn 2 rukuk maka sah solatnya.

Lafaz niatnya (gerhana bulan):
"Aku solat gerhana bulan 2 rakaat kerana Allah Taala."

Lafaz niatnya (gerhana matahari):
"Aku solat gerhana matahari 2 rakaat kerana Allah Taala."


Truth to be told(like what i told wahida)..i never did this solat sunat before...
but i have heard my guru ngaji told me about this solat sunat.

Ini berdasarkan daripada hadis yang diriwayatkan oleh Imam Muslim yang bermakna : Sesungguhnya matahari dan bulan merupakan dua tanda daripada tanda-tanda (kebesaran) Allah tidak berlaku gerhana pada kedua-duanya kerana kematiaan seseorang dan tidak pula kerana kelahirannya. Maka apabila kamu melihat perkara itu maka sembahyanglah dan berdoalah sehingga kembali terang (hilang gerhana) apa dengan kamu.

Hadis ini keluar daripada mulut Rasulullah saw pada hari kematian anak lelakinya Ibrahim di mana ramai orang mendakwa bahawa kematian Ibrahim inilah yang menyebabkan matahari bersedih sehingga berlakunya gerhana. Mengikut kepercayaan mereka ketika jahiliah di mana apabila berlakunya gerhana matahari atau pun bulan maka mereka beranggapan bahawa berlakunya sesuatu gerhana disebabkan kematian seseorang yang besar dan mulia.
Rasulullah saw telah menyangkal kefahaman karut ini lalu bersabda sebagaimana tersebut. Begitulah juga dengan kebanyakan kita hari ini yang mana mereka bukan bersegera untuk solat gerhana apabila berlakunya sesuatu gerhana tetapi sebaliknya mencari sesuatu untuk memukul pangkal-pangkal pokok buahan supaya berbuah lebat. Perkara ini jika melibatkan kepercayaan yang berlawan dengan kekuasaan Allah dalam membuat sesuatu boleh membawa kepada syirik.

HIKMAH DAN SEBAB GERHANA

Terdapat beberapa sebab dan hikmah mengapa Allah menciptakan kejadian ini. Antaranya yang dijelaskan oleh para Ulama ialah, Allah mahu menakut-nakutkan hambanya dan membuktikan bahawa Bulan dan Matahari tidak lebih dari kekuasaan-Nya. Abu Musa ada menyebut bahawa tanda-tanda ini ialah disebabkan Allah mahu menakutkan para hamba-Nya. Kata beliau, "Tanda-tanda yang Allah kirimkan ini bukanlah karena kematian atau kehidupan seseorang, tetapi Allah sedang manakut-nakutkan hamba-hamba-Nya dengannya, maka jika kalian melihat sesuatu yang demikian itu, bersegeralah untuk mengingat Allah, berdo’a dan meminta ampun kepada-Nya"[2].Selain daripada menakutkan para hamba-Nya, menurut Imam Ibrahim al-Baijuri, antara hikmah berlakunya fenomena gerhana ialah sebagai peringatan kepada golongan penyembah matahari dan bulan bahawa kedua-dua matahari dan bulan adalah makhluk yang tunduk dan patuh pada kekuasaan Allah. Jika kedua-duanya adalah tuhan sebagaimana dakwaan mereka, nescaya akan menjaga dirinya daripada kekurangan, lalu mengapakah cahayanya boleh hilang seketika?

Jika Allah cepat makbulkan doamu, Dia menyayangimu
Jika Allah lambat makbulkan doamu, Dia sedang mengujimu
tetapi jika Allah tidak makbulkan doamu,
bermakna dia merancang sesuatu yang lebih baik untukmu.

Racial Harmony Day

Today is a Racial Harmony day....actually i don't even know the existence of that day...until the school gave me a notice wanting the kids to dress up traditionally for school on 21/07 which is today, of course!! Before this, few years back i thought the kids in Pap were celebrating early national Day..hahaha...ignorant me!

So i prepared and ironed their baju kurungs yesterday and mended Aniq's pocket as well...

And i informed them very simply that they will go to school today with these baju kurung because i don;t want them to think that dressing like that, they will going out jln-jln..and end up getting disappointed. Based on my experience with them when i have to dress them in Red to celebrate Chinese New Year in school early this year and end up crying when they found themselves in front the school door instead of heading out jln-jln.

But today, seems like they understood me because they were not caught surprise when heading to school. Everything went well and oh my gosh ...let me tell you this...the kids were super duper cute man... esp the malay ones and the indians dressing in baju kurung and punjabi suit and sari....no offence but the chinese kids were dressed too plain as only minority ones dressed in Cheongsam.

Took the pictures of the kids with the Principal (by the way, she was super nice) and the teachers (they were good too) for memory sake.
